We went to Sol Cayo Largo with our friends from Dec 9th to Dec 16, 2004 and it was like being in Paradise. We have spent holidays in many other resorts in the Caribean and Sol Cayo Largo was by far the best.
The lobby is a work of art and the whole complex is kept in A1 condition, when we arrived the balcony door was broken we phoned the front desk and a repair man was there in ten minutes and fixed it. The two pools are beautiful with an abundance of chaise lounges, the beach which is miles long has very fine white sand and has many thatched roof sun shades and chaise lounges. The water a beautiful green/blue color, was fairly warm and stayed shallow a long way out.
There are many gazebos where one can sit and read or relax and some of them even had carafes of coffee and pastries, we found the food in the main dining room, although buffet was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially our dining room waitress Yarisbel, Noel and Giovanni at the lobby bar, Alexander at the front desk, Miguel at the beach restaurant and Yamila our maid. The a la carte dining at the Las Trinas was superb in a beautiful atmosphere. We certainly plan to visit this resort again in the near future.

my husband and i just got back from the sol cayo largo in cuba. i don't know where to begin. the beaches are spotless, clean, beautiful, the most beautiful turquoise, swimmable waters we have encountered in all our 22 years of caribbean island hopping., The room was clean and had a stunning view of the beach. the staff were friendly and helpful, always smiling. this was our first trip to cayo largo and 2 weeks wasn't long enough. the atmosphere is so laid back and peaceful, the beach life was shall i say, very unconventional. anything went, from topless right to complete nudity, it didn't matter, relaxing and peaceful, we can't say enough about cayo largo, ifyou need to re-charge this is the place to go. alot of couples, hardly any children and the couples scene (ages 30-60) were all very friendly and polite. the entertainment at night was splendid. all we can say is that we'll be booking sol cayo largo again real soon. marsh and damien toronto, ontario

Our trip to Cayo Largo was fantastic. We spent one week at the Sol Cayo Largo with another couple that we travel with each winter. We are originally from Holland and have wintered in many warm European hot spots, We would equal Cayo Largo to any of those spots. The hotel was amazingly clean, the hotel staff were polite and professional, the food was very good, presented well and the variety was out of this world.
The beach was vast, we walked and swam and most of the time you felt like you had the ocean to yourself. The water was crystal clear and never rough, and always warm. We thoroughly enjoy a naturalist lifestyle, so Cayo Largo offers this, no bathing suit, no problem. All that we can say is CHEERS, we love Cayo Largo and will be back, often.
Hello to bartender Armaindo, he can mix a mean drink!! Annita & Franc & Mitzi & Steve
